Spring Break at Costanoa
When we went to Costanoa, we went with our little cousins. When we arrived, there was this ridge that when my sister and I visited here ten years ago, we would go up and down up and down. We thought we were so brave! Now we are here with our cousins. The youngest, Evelyn, is two. She loved the mountain and we would go up and we would follow the ridge to the end of the “mountain.” To get there, the path along the ridge drops, and then goes up again. Since my cousins were a little afraid, especially Evelyn, they dropped on their butt slid down each time. We called Evelyn “dirty butt” because her butt was so dirty.
Why is it called Macy’s Mountain?
Because when we were last here we went up it (as you might remember) and we named it Macy and Kaitlin’s Mountain. But we just called it Macy’s Mountain. The mountain was fun to go on and we helped the little ones on getting down not only from our camp but from another camp too. An 8-year old girl and her 4-year old brother would join us and we would help the little boy down the mountain because his sister was more interested in helping Evelyn walk, even when she didn’t need the help. For the poor little boy, though, going down the mountain was scary to him.
In the end we all enjoyed Costanoa and Macy’s Mountain!
