I Found Some New Favorite Foods
I’ve tried a lot of new things on this trip. Including some things that I would have never tried if my parents hadn’t made me. Have you ever tried something that looks so disgusting you thought there was no chance you’d like it, and tried then it and it ended up being delicious? Well, that’s how I felt when I tried some new foods in Europe.
I first started thinking about this post in Germany. On the night we arrived in Munich, Carolin led us to her brother’s favorite restaurant. I ordered a sausage dish that had a lot of sausages, but I didn’t really like the sauce that went with them (the sausages, though, were actually okay). Potter and Steve ordered Wiener schnitzel, Carolin ordered chicken, and I think Grand Poobah ordered lamb with some sort of vegetable. Sherpa Momma ordered this pasta that had cheesy sauce on it (spaetzle). I started off by trying one of my sausages, and it was good. Then Sherpa Momma offered me a bite of her pasta, and that so delicious too. She also had another food on her dish that I tried and like – it had butter and stuff on it. Next Potter gave me a bite of her Wiener schnitzel. I looked at it, and it did not look appetizing. Then Sherpa Momma told me what it was, and I was like, “No way, I’ll never like that!” She said it was “super delicious” but I didn’t believe her; but when I tried it, I was like ‘Oh my God, this IS super delicious!’

Grand Poobah eventually got me to try his lamb and vegetables dish. I thought it would be disgusting, but then I tried it, and really liked that one too (so did my Dad). I continued on to Carolin’s dish, but that was a chicken dish we had tried before, so it wasn’t a surprise that I liked that one too. Between the six of us, we ordered five different dishes. I tried, and liked, all five!
I remember on the Disney cruise (oh so long ago) that I ordered off the adult menu every single night, and every single night it was something different that I ordered, and every night the food was delicious. One of my favorite dishes was this breaded chicken that had rosemary and butter sauce in the middle. Everyone at the table said I completely scored on that one! Wiener schnitzel turned out to be my favorite dish out of all of the dishes that I’ve tried so far, and believe me, I have tried a lot of dishes! We’ll have to learn how to make that one at home! In the comment box below tell me something that you thought you would hate but absolutely loved (and still love).

Trying – and loving – new foods is exactly what I did when I started traveling in Europe and Eastern Europe, too! I once tried a sausage in Urkraine that was called “blood sausage” (buckwheat groats soaked in blood and baked inside sausage skin), and it turned out to be delicious! You just never know. Enjoy exploring more and more new things!
good for you Cupcake!!!! One dish I tried and didn’t like was liver!!!!!! I think I like all other foods, some are just ok and some are delicious!
