At Least We Had Gelato at the End
Have you ever been on a hike that makes you feel so disgusting that you just want to give up and go jump in a pool? That is how I felt when I went on this hike. We were on a narrow coastal trail through the hills, walking from one of the Cinque Terre towns (Corniglia) to another one of them (Vernazza). It was so hot and almost entirely uphill, except for like the last 30-40 minutes or so. We met another group of tourists that was also from California, from Sunnyvale. The hike was supposed to take 1½ hours, but it took more like an hour and forty-five minutes.
NOTE: bring a lot of water if you’re hiking the Cinque Terre in summer! We all really ran out of water on that hike (except for Steve). You go uphill a lot, but the end for us was extremely down hill. We all made it through that hike, and the views of Vernazza turning the last corner on the trail were amazing.* We were going to go on another hike but then we just got gelato instead. I got the flavors chocolate and mint chocolate chip. We walked around but I think in the end it was good exercise.
